CompTIA A+ Special Information
Getting CompTIA A+ certified requires you to pass TWO exams: 220-1001/1002 (active translation exams only) or 220-1101/1102. You cannot mix exam versions: you must pass both exams in the 100x series or both exams in the 110x series to become certified. A CompTIA A+ voucher is good for ONE exam. This means you have to purchase a voucher for each exam. You can buy the two vouchers at the same time or at different times.
How to Use a Voucher
Here are the steps to use a voucher to pay for a CompTIA exam.
- You will receive an e-mail message containing the voucher number. (The number is important!)
- Register for an exam with Pearson VUE.
- When asked to pay for the exam, select option to use voucher number rather than credit card.
International Voucher Terms
- Orders are charged in US dollars only, exchange rates are determined
through your card bank. - CompTIA uses location-based pricing for their exams and each
country/region uses different exam vouchers. - An international voucher can only be used in the country for which it’s
purchased. For example, a voucher for France cannot be used in Italy or in
any other country. - Vouchers are non-refundable so please choose your country carefully.
- If you do not see a particular country in our list, then we do not sell
vouchers for that country. Please check back with us as we may add

Order Process
After completing your purchase, you will receive:
- E-mail message confirming the order
- A second e-mail message containing your voucher number, sent during normal business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm CST). Vouchers are not downloaded.

- Online testing, with remote proctoring, enables you to take a CompTIA exam whenever and wherever you choose.
- Here’s a link to a video introducing OnVUE.
- You’ll need a quiet, private location, a reliable device with a webcam, and a strong internet connection.
- All valid, previously purchased vouchers can be used with remote testing.
