05.01.2007: To mark its 25th anniversary, and to fulfill its mission of developing the next-generation of IT workers, CompTIA is sponsoring an essay contest for high school seniors and college students pursuing careers in IT. A total of $25,000 in scholarships will be awarded to the winners of the essay contest. Scholarships of up to $5,000 each will be presented to five or more students whose essays are judged to be the best. The scholarship awards must be applied to tuition, books or other expenses incurred in the pursuit of an academic degree in a technology-related field. For more information go here

02.01.2007: CompTIA is seeking A+ Subject Matter Experts

CompTIA is currently seeking Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to provide assistance in the CompTIA A+ Item Development Workshop. SME participation provides validity to the exam and ensures that the CompTIA A+ certification used by employers, consumers, IT and vertical industries remains a widely-recognized and valued benchmark.

The Workshop will be held February 19-23 at CompTIA headquarters in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. The focus will be on CompTIA A+ Essentials 220-601 (entry-level IT knowledge) and CompTIA A+ 220-602 (individuals who work in a mobile or corporate technical environment that have a high level of face-to-face client contact).
