p. 21, answer 4 should read, B. Parallel printer port connectors have 25 pins or contacts.
p. 70, answer 8 should read, A. "ATX Power supplies connect to ATX motherboards with a single P1 connector."
p. 139, question #3 should read as follows:
Which RAM modules are available in two different pin packages?
p. 141, the answers for #2 and #3 should read as follows (changes in bold):
2. B. Dual inline memory modules (DIMMs) have 168 or 184 pins. SIMMs have 30 or 72 pins, and RIMMs have 184 pins.
3. A, B. SIMMs are available in both 30-pin and 72-pin packages. DIMMs are available in both 168-pin and 184-pin packages.
p. 146, second sentence under Capacity should say 16,383 cylinders rather than 13,328.
p. 249, first sentence under "Serial Printers" section. That should read "...sometimes connect via a 9- or 25-pin serial port."
p. 273, second paragraph. Both references to 114-pin SODIMM modules should be 144-pin.
pp. 339-42, the abbreviation MBps should universally be Mbps. Similarly, KBps on these pages should be Kbps.
p. 360, last paragraph, second sentence, should read as follows (change in bold):
...in general you can find the shortcut to the command line interface program, COMMAND.COM in Windows 9x/Me...
p. 361, Exam Tip, last sentence. The command line interface program is COMMAND.COM, rather than COMMAND.EXE.
p. 460, question 7 should include the statement, (Select all that apply).
p. 462, answer 7 should read as follows:
7. A, B. You should remove both third-party antivirus and disk compression software before upgrading to Windows XP.
pp. 477-515. Figure 17.11 on page 477 shows the caption number as 17.9. This renumbering makes all the rest of the figure references in the captions for Chapter 17 off by two places. Figure 17.12 on page 478, for example, "Configuring NWLink," is referred to properly in the text but the caption says it's Figure 17.10. Figure 17.48 on page 515 that shows a screen from WS_FTP application, as another example, is referred to properly in the text; the caption has it misnumbered as Figure 17.46.
p. 519, answer 4 should be A rather than B. The text of the answer is correct.
