| is matching ram speed with the fsb as simple as matching the effective speed of the ram (pcxxxx)with the effective speed of the fsb (after double pumped) thanks |

| I assume you are asking in relation to the A+ test since it is in the A+ forum so I would have to say that as far as I know matching the FSB and the speed of the memory is as easy as matching the speeds of the 2. 800 MHz FSB goes with 800 MHz RAM and so on. However in real life it's not that simple especially since the FSB no longer exists in either the AMD or Intel platform. Also with each chipset can take multiple speeds of memory. So it's not as easy as saying that a chipset that utilizes a FSB of 800 MHz must use DDR 800. The easiest way to decipher which memory your motherboard will support is checking the documentation that the is supplied with the motherboard. You can also usually check on the manufacturers website to see up to the date information. |
